Three times a year at three different locations teacher volunteers from Teachers Across Borders Australia run a professional development program for their Khmer colleagues in Cambodia.
The education system in Cambodia is one of the most impoverished in the world with few resources, poorly paid teachers and limited ongoing training for teachers. Many teachers have only primary or lower-secondary education.
Volunteers meet all of their travel and accommodation costs.
How will the funds be used?
Workshop costs such as translation and resources
Transport for Cambodian teachers from outlying areas
Training for Cambodian teachers to become workshop leaders
