Last letter from Marg Allen January 2014

One more day to go and our workshops will be over. We've been immersed in local culture, woken up by kids playing in the streets at night, horns tooting, wedding music at top volume and even the baker next door at 4.30 am, making the daily baguettes, with chopping noises rhythmically pounding the dough.

Update 2 January 2014

on August 17th, 2017 at 1:47:02 PM

Hello again from Battambang!
It's rest day today so time to catch up with all we are doing here. Some of the team have gone sightseeing on the Bamboo train out into the country side. Others have gone shopping in the markets. There's also a museum and local crafts to explore.

We've found delicious coffee this year! So our coffee competition has ended and we'll need to come up with a new challenge for next year! There are new restaurants to try. We've had a birthday party on the hotel deck with a tasty cake, hats, spray party foam and balloons.

Battambang team prepares for the workshops - January 2013

on August 17th, 2017 at 1:47:02 PM

It’s great to be back!!

The team is gathering now in Cambodia to head to Battambang and we're all orienting ourselves to the climate, the smells, the food and the way of life in Cambodia. The rooster was our alarm this morning!!!

New team members are soaking up the culture and especially the history of Cambodia and its impact on Education. We're getting used to motor bikes, tuk-tuks, happy children, friends, the ice man, trucks racing everywhere, busy traffic, music... all unique.

Impressions from a first timer workshop presenter

on August 17th, 2017 at 1:47:02 PM

As a first time participant in the TAB program I was a bit nervous about how I would cope with it but it was a fantastic experience that I would encourage anybody to be part of at some time. The first part of the Kampong Thom program was for students in their first year of teacher training at the regional teachers college. Some had come from small rural schools and had only completed year 9, but most had completed year 12 in bigger centres.
